Aji Limon pepper, Inca pepper, heirloom pepper from Lima Peru, Peruvian Aji Limon, ceviche pepper, Legend (maybe an urban one) tells us that when the Aji Limon pepper was first imported to the US it came as  Aji-Lima or "pepper from Lima", Peru. Because of its beautiful yellow color and lemony taste overtones, Aji Limon (lemon pepper) sounded more appropriate (marketable) and the name stuck.

Typically, the Scoville rating runs between 30,000 to 50,000, comparable to Tabasco or Cayenne peppers. This pepper is unique and complements so many foods we had to include it in spite of its modest heat range.
